Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Circulation Zone Manager enforces and creates company policies and procedures that coordinate delivery of The Denver Post in an accurate and timely manner, with emphasis on achieving customer service.

Essential Functions

• Select, hire, train, monitor, discipline, review and develop Home Delivery agents to achieve on time and accurate delivery and resolve customer complaints.

• Resolve and investigate customer complaints and report results back to the company.

• Interface closely with all departments and circulation Home Delivery Manager to ensure employees have the tools and resources to perform their jobs effectively.

• Maintain a working knowledge of the entire zone. Conduct open forums and team meetings to motivate and communicate, this includes productivity and performance goals.

• Establish objectives for delivery agents. Develop internal record keeping of accomplishments and supervisory objectives.

• Create efficiencies that will accommodate circulation growth and expansion.

• Manage budget guidelines within the zone.

• Communicate changes or delivery status to the circulation Home Delivery Manager.

• Generate various tracking reports including; single copy recap, weekly cpm, repeat complaints, open routes, employee hours, and route audits.

• Effectively plan and evaluates the size and scope of each agency to provide adequate service and compensation.

• Properly maintains any assigned vehicles, phones, and computer equipment according to company policies.

• Reviews all Agent compensation for biweekly billing.

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, remaining accountable to circulation Home Delivery manager for all the above and other additional assigned duties and responsibilities.

• Assist with all duties involved with the delivery and distribution of the newspaper and other contracted products to ensure company service expectations are being met.

• Valid Driver’s License

Travel

• 70% local travel

Required or Preferred Education

• High School or Equivalent

Required or Preferred Experience

• Previous experience preferred

Work Environment

• This role works in a factory and warehouse environment.

• Drives vehicle and delivers newspapers

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

The annual salary range for Colorado residents is $65,000 to $70,000.
