Overview

Georgia Crown Distributing Co. is looking for a second shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in McDonough Ga. Georgia Crown is a full-service alcoholic beverage distributor with wholesale operations doing business in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. 

Responsibilities

Perform basic maintenance and repairs on conveyors, forklifts and other machinery. Check the performance of machinery, clean and lubricate them when required, perform basic diagnostics, and test damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.

Other duties assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write)
  • Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and monthly safety checks
  • Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
  • Removes, repairs, or replaces broken parts using hand or power tools.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Must be able to complete required written paperwork.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Must be 21 years of age with a Hight School Diploma/GED and 2 years Technical School or equivalent OJT with electrical motors, conveyors, ASRS, or mechanical systems.
  • Can operate a scissor and/or boom lift and work at extended heights up to 40 feet.
  • Must be safety minded and promote safety at all times while working.                         
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift and overtime as required.
  • Prior experience preferred in the following areas:
    • Reading mechanical and electrical blueprints
    • Electrical systems-120 volt,277 volt,480 volt
    • PLC's-Basic PLC trouble shooting skills
    • Pneumatics
    • Preventative Maintenance schedules & routines
    • Must be computer literate.
  • Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…).
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record:           Cannot have more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years.           Cannot have DUI, reckless driving or hit-and-run in last 5 years.
