Helmerich & Payne (“H&P”) is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to report to the SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Senior Manager. In this role you will regularly collaborate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders all while tackling challenging projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, exhibits a passion for continuous improvement, and desires to work alongside a highly motivated team.
We offer the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, requiring 2-3 days a week during quarter-end close at our headquarters in Tulsa, OK. Additional travel may be required on occasion.

SENIOR FINANCIAL REPORTING ANALYST
What You Will Do
While there won’t be a “typical” day for this position, here are some of the responsibilities the job will include:
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including, but not limited to, 10K’s, 10Q’s, DEF14A, and earnings releases
- Work directly with internal and external auditors to provide requested information and support
- Proactively make enhancements to reporting processes, and engage in automation projects related to financial reporting
- Prepare tie-out packages of external and internal reports
- Research, interpret and document accounting conclusions for complex and non-routine transactions
- Review revenue contracts, leases, and other legal documents and summarize the related accounting treatment
- Implement new accounting standard updates and disclosure requirements
- Other tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned
What We Are Seeking
- 'Must Have’ Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
- CPA and Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Experience preparing/interpreting public financial statements
- Experience with internal controls & processes
- Skills/Abilities/Experience That Will Help You Stand Out:
- Working knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud (FCCS), Smartview, and Wdesk
- Experience at a public accounting firm with a focus in audit
- Experience working in a team environment and have the ability to manage competing deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to document technical accounting conclusions in a way that is appropriate for external and internal audiences
