Description

Hoist & Crane Service Group is seeking a Safety Coordinator II.  The Safety Coordinator II is responsible for: Compiling data from work environments through field reviews and evaluate findings to promote and implement safe work practices.  Assist the Safety Manager on overall departmental safety and health responsibilities as assigned.  Safety Coordinator II will be required to travel to various job site locations to support Safety Department, to conduct field safety reviews, and complete field review reports, followed by 15/30/45-day reports and meetings, complete investigations where needed, and monitor compliance issues in conjunction with direction from the Safety Department.  Provide guidance in Horizontal Safety practices, lead Horizontal Safety Team Leads meetings, encourage participation in HS practices among workers. Monitor vehicle and incident occurrences and document / file management timely and accurately.  Provide guidance with evaluations in extreme locations on Crane mounted ADS and other mitigation methods.

Specific Duties are:

  • Present self in a professional manner when at a customer location acting as a company representative
  • Capable of evaluating and meeting customer satisfaction
  • Implement and address safety and health hazards in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of Industrial work environments where HCSG performs duties, including but not limited to oil, gas, chemical, paper mills, etc.
  • Assist in prevention of onsite safety and health hazards.
  • Assist in the implementation of safety policies at the jobsite & branch office as instituted by the Safety Department where applicable.
  • Responsible for support in preparing safety accident investigation reports in conjunction with regional needs.
  • Evaluates Hazards through field reviews, providing reports with 15/30/45-day reports with management with actions plans for corrections.
  • Implements health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitors safety compliance to reduce risks.
  • Assists in preparing maintenance of branch review contingency plans, including fire prevention and procedures in accordance with government regulations and insurance company regulations
  • Assists with audit data collection and reporting as needed.
  • Prepares information for emergency preparedness, confined spaces, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, equipment operation, and hazard communication for training purposes where needed.
  • Attends 75% of branch meetings either in person or via Teams
  • Assists in the identification and prioritization of risks inherent to corporate activities.
  • Assists in supervision of modifications of training, policies, and inspections based on periodic risk analyses.
  • Assists in documentation and preparation of corporate safety goals annually.
  • Perform RCA investigations, reports completed and provided to management and customers as required per regional needs as assigned.
  • Assist with vetting site oversight, e.g. ISN, Avetta, Browz, etc.
  • Assist with TEAMS folder development as needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies including safety, appearance, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of practical application of engineering science and technology required to evaluate and apply mitigation solutions in extreme locations.
  • Applicable knowledge of applied business principles to maintain 3rd party websites, develop guidance documents, policies, and procedures where applicable.
  • Apply knowledge of principles and procedures for training and field development, Horizontal safety guidance where applicable.
  • Keep up to date on local, state, federal, customer guidelines

Field work audits and evaluating hazards may include working at elevations in excess of 30 feet. Travel will be overnight and up to 50%.

Qualifications


The qualified candidate will be able to pass drug, alcohol, background, and motor vehicle checks and will meet the following:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ Years of experience safety related experience 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
  • Ability to produce reports in a timely, efficient manner according to program protocols
  • Computer proficient
  • Demonstrate respect for all individuals
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight stays
  • Ability to communicate in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Proven ability to communicate written/verbally

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Sciences, or related field is desired
  • Professional certifications related to field
  • Ability to prepare technical reports as to support the Safety Department
