JOB SUMMARY:

The Survey Quality Engineer is responsible for providing H&P’s Advanced MWD Analytics and Survey Management services to MWD operators on location in a timely manner. The Survey Quality Engineer will use effective communication, data analysis, and customer service attitude to fulfill their responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• QC and maintain survey set data using proprietary software.
• Identify survey errors through means of Advanced MWD Analytics and provide survey corrections in a timely matter to the MWD operator on the rig site.
• Troubleshoot basic issues with the MWD operator.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and field personnel.
• Interface with external customers, including, but not limited to, Drilling Engineers, Well Planners, MWD Coordinators, MWD Operators.
• Interface with internal customers, including, but not limited to, Coordinators, Survey Analysts, Operations Engineers, and Business Development.
• Become intimately familiar with the HPT Advanced MWD Analytics system as well as the other HPT service offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in technical or STEM related field preferred.
• 1-2 years prior experience working in the oil and gas industry preferred.
• MWD and/or Directional Drilling experience preferred.
• General understanding of drilling and rig operations.
• Previous remote operations experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and customer awareness.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Self-starter and motivated.
• Proficient at time management and able to multitask.
• Can work well in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Pay Range: $70,500 - $109,000 annual
