JOB SUMMARY:
The Survey Quality Engineer is responsible for providing H&P’s Advanced MWD Analytics and Survey Management services to MWD operators on location in a timely manner. The Survey Quality Engineer will use effective communication, data analysis, and customer service attitude to fulfill their responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- QC and maintain survey set data using proprietary software.
- Identify survey errors through means of Advanced MWD Analytics and provide survey corrections in a timely matter to the MWD operator on the rig site.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with the MWD operator.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and field personnel.
- Interface with external customers, including, but not limited to, Drilling Engineers, Well Planners, MWD Coordinators, MWD Operators.
- Interface with internal customers, including, but not limited to, Coordinators, Survey Analysts, Operations Engineers, and Business Development.
- Become intimately familiar with the HPT Advanced MWD Analytics system as well as the other HPT service offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in technical or STEM related field preferred.
- 1-2 years prior experience working in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- MWD and/or Directional Drilling experience preferred.
- General understanding of drilling and rig operations.
- Previous remote operations experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and customer awareness.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Self-starter and motivated.
- Proficient at time management and able to multitask.
- Can work well in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Pay Range: $70,500 - $109,000 annual
