The Remote Directional Drilling Specialist is responsible for overseeing drilling operations, communicating with the team, and reporting drilling data accurately by monitoring and running of the HPT Bit Guidance and AutoSlide Systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day Drilling Operations
- Maintain the System by evaluating each Cplan computed, creating/managing configurations, and reviewing all notices
- Input Geosteering Target Changes
- Coordinate Motive personnel and equipment at worksites
- Assist field personnel with BHA/Well Plan Uploads
- Monitor rig EDR to maintain and understand operational efficiencies
- Build relationships and communicate with field personnel on location
- Interface with Geologist/Geosteering team
- Report on survey quality to third party MWD
- Create and manage daily paperwork used for footage, hours, and billing
- Document injections/system overrides descriptively
- Manage new well setup and deployment

Qualifications:
- 10 years combined rig/directional drilling/WMD experience
- Previous remote operations experience preferred
- Good understanding of downhole tools and ability to recognize drilling dysfunction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and customer awareness
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new problems and situations
- Intermediate computer skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Knowledge of basic algebra
