Statco-DSI is looking for a Purchasing Manager responsible for the planning and procurement of materials, supplies, equipment and services required by various Statco Engineering departments. This role will drive continuous improvement in the areas within Materials Management.     

Are you excited about this work? 

  • Responsible for ensuring the purchase and timely delivery of machinery, raw materials, tools, equipment, parts, services and/or supplies at the lowest possible cost, while meeting quality and specification requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and acceptability of items to specifications.
  • Negotiates complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors. This includes the negotiation of contracts for large volumes of materials and/or supplies over a period of time at an optimal price.
  • Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service. This includes qualifying vendors and establishing/maintaining a preferred vendor list.
  • Designs, implements, manages, and monitors procurement reporting systems to meet company requirements.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. This includes the establishment of prices or price ranges for all equipment, material and/or supplies. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Promote by selling to related and non-related companies the sales activities of Manufacturing Services that include parts manufacturing and machining and fabrication capabilities
  • Interface and act as a technical resource with other departments e.g. engineering, production, sales/marketing, parts, accounting, etc. Prepare and direct reports to other departments, vendors, customers to address and resolve inquiries and problems.
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials when necessary.
  • Develop capital/operating budgets and manning requirements for area of responsibility. Develop short- and long-range goals and objectives for purchasing, inventory and manufacturing services sales that effectively support the overall goals and objectives of the company.

Total compensation includes your pay (base salary), potential short-term incentive opportunities, comprehensive medical/dental/vision programs, as well as life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off programs, a retirement savings plan with a company match, and a wellness program. And because we understand the importance of feeling protected, there is no waiting period for benefits – you are eligible on your first day of employment! 

Base Salary Range: $68,600.0 - $117,600.0

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Accounting with related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Proven track record of success with vendor negotiations 
  • Ability to think critically and find unique solutions to changing business needs. 
  • Organizationally aware – understands how material flow impacts engineering, financials and operations 
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  
  • Experience performing cost analysis to measure and forecast the impact of changes to sourcing strategies. 
  • Ability to speak effectively and present information across all levels of company personnel. 
  • Experience using ERP systems to manage procurement and supply chain processes.
