Mechanical design: As a member of the engineering design team, candidate will work on concept development, layout, and stress analysis. Candidate will work with engineers of other disciplines and drafting designers to drawing completion of various land and offshore rig components and systems. Responsibilities include package weight control, analysis documentation, coordinating design efforts with other teams, third party manufacturing as well as interfacing with fabricators and H&P field operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience. Experience with drilling rig design is beneficial.
• Proficiency with CAD software
• Knowledgeable on general fabrication, machining practices and improving fabrication drawings
• Design of mobile pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
• Has or is working towards obtaining PE
• Proficiency in MS Office programs
• Must be able to manage projects consisting of multiple forms of power transmission such as hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, etc.
• Must have the ability to lead projects and be a self-starter
• Familiarity with FEA modeling software
• Familiarity with Machinery Handbook, ASME, AGMA and ASTM
• Familiarity with API Specification and Recommended Practices is beneficial
• Familiarity with AISC design manual is beneficial
• Vocal team contributor
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work and communicate with office, shop, and oil field personnel
• Some travel required to fabrication facilities, assembly facilities, and rig locations
