Job Description

To assist in achieving performance deadlines of all printed material, mechanics are equipped with mobile communication, to enable full time availability, and to respond to daily maintenance requests throughout the facility, in a timely fashion, to minimize equipment downtime and to assist with urgent building & maintenance needs as directed.

Essential Functions:

• Analytical approach in diagnosing equipment problems, and experience in identifying and preventing extended equipment damage through proactive attentiveness and awareness of unusual machinery behavior and, or sounds.

• Demonstrate safe and proper use of safety equipment, tools, and machinery

• Identify, repair, maintain and perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment in the Pressroom, Mailroom, and Utility floor, to ensure safe and efficient working conditions exist, and to avoid loss of production time.

• Quickly diagnose and communicate accurately, fully, and professionally; job priorities, repair steps required, parts required, and estimated time to completion, with awareness and efforts to achieve expense efficiency.

• Machinist skills, ability to fabricate using lathes, mills, precision instruments, and other basic machine shop equipment.

• Welding skills, using various techniques including Stick, TIG and MIG.

• Working knowledge of safety policies and procedural requirements- specifically, but not limited to: Lock out/tag out, Arc Flash, Confined Space, & HazCom.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong team player, with ability to interact with multiple levels and variable environments.

• Working knowledge and experience in providing accurate evaluations and estimated inventory needs for any given repair.

• Recording & documentation skills- for all work orders and department logs.

• Clean and organize shops and all work areas routinely.

• Perform all basic maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Physical Working Conditions:

• Available to work varying and extended shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays, as necessary.

• Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates. (Majority – indoor.)

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Physical requirements include frequent and routine use of stairwells, ladders, and operation of production equipment. (Forklifts, power dollies, & scissor lifts.)

• Frequent and continuous requirements include: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching above head, and or crawling, in order to reach areas in need of repair or replacement parts.

Job Qualifications

• 5 years Industrial Mechanical experience, and /or 2-year technical degree.

• Safety Training, to include Lock Out / Tag Out, Arc Flash, Confined Space, HazCom.

• Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude.

• Manual Dexterity

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

The hourly range for Colorado residents is $17.00- $29.00/hr. This role may be eligible for a sign on bonus.
