Photojournalist – Inland Empire

The Southern California News Group is looking for an experienced photojournalist to join our Inland Empire team full time. The photographer would work with our team at The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, The Sun in San Bernardino, the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin in Ontario and the Redlands Daily Facts in Redlands. The ideal candidate should be aggressive and resourceful when on scene of assignments, which range from breaking news to feature portraits. We’re looking for a photojournalist who excels in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, who’s comfortable using social media and who’s able to capture the subject matter in a compelling way.

Nikon digital equipment provided.

Duties include:

• Support Inland news staff, and SCNG team, capturing live images on assignment throughout the Inland Empire.

• Fast response and turnaround on breaking news assignments.

• Create images that help to tell a story.

• Create original photo essays for digital and print publication.

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of professional photography experience, preferably in a news environment.

• Ability to write clear and concise captions, free of errors and using AP Style.

• Familiarity with Photoshop, WordPress, social media platforms.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid work environment. Office access is available but most of the work is done in the field.
