JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Panel Shop Team Leader is responsible for providing direction and guidance to panel builders as they perform the duties of their job.  The Team Leader works closely with the Controls Engineering Manager to develop a project schedule and assure deadlines are met.  All duties must be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.  This position reports to the Controls Engineering Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify part quantities for work orders before accepting them.
  • Maintain the shop supply for wire, cable, din rail, wire duct, and other consumables.
  • Work closely with the Production Coordinator on the migration of work orders.
  • Work with Engineering to identify excessive parts, Bill of Material discrepancies, and errors with electrical schematics.
  • Maintenance for special equipment including the router, wire labelers, terminal strip labelers, sand belt, ban-saw, etc.
  • Handles all tasks relevant to UL and CSA approval alongside Engineering.
  • Creating label files for Brady labeling system, Wago marking system, and Altech engraving system.
  • Ensure quality inspection is completed.
  • Sort and order engineering change requests for the department.
  • Works closely with the Controls Engineering Mgr to develop a schedule for projects.
  • Will develop work instructions and assist your peers.
  • Ensure that the team is entering their time into Syteline.
  • This individual must be capable of all operations within the panel shop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  •  High School Graduate or equivalent.
  •  Technical school attendance a plus.
  •  Ability to understand and work from electrical schematics.
  •  Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology required.
  • The ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • High standard of quality and attention to detail.
  •  Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management.
  •  Must be willing to work some overtime if the business need arises.
  •  Must be very detailed oriented and strive to achieve high quality results.
  •  Ability to multitask, prioritize, organize, and adhere to written procedures.
  •  Professionalism, a positive attitude and willingness to work as a team.
  • Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of internal and external customers.
