Job Description

Summary/Objective

It is the responsibility of Machine Operator to make sure that correct inserts goes into the paper on the correct day, and that we meet all deadlines. Also responsible for running Bravo bindery

Essential Functions

• Set up the SLS-2000, SLS 3000 or Kansa to run inserts or the Bravo to run books.

• Responsible for maintenance on the mailroom equipment -- grease, oil, etc.
• Confirm the right insert is inserted on the right day.
• Assist the machine inserters when needed.
• Verify that books are trimmed to customer specifications.
• Insure bundle counts are correct
• Keep mailroom clean and orderly.
• Perform as lead during shift. Supervise inserters in coordination with Assistant Mailroom Supervisor.
• Communicates with Assistant Mailroom Supervisor to notify him of any problems related to Mailroom operations.
• Tie bales as needed, both paper and cardboard.
• Use forklift and pallet jacks to bring inserts in from warehouse and move finished pallets from machine.
• Strap and shrink wrap finished pallets.

• Computer literacy and ability to clearly communicate information, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail with great customer service and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrate safe and proper use of safety equipment, shop tools, machinery, etc.
• Ability to work any and all shifts is necessary.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.

• There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position

Travel

• There is no travel associated with this position

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

• Prior mailroom experience preferred
• Prefer two years’ experience in mailroom operations.

Work Environment

• This job operates in a fast paced, production environment. This position will be exposed to loud machinery.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; kneel; twist; crouch; bend and use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to frequently lift products and supplies up to 50 pounds.
• This position operates in a manufacturing environment which will include regular use of required Personal Protective Equipment including eye/ear protection when applicable. A sense of balance.

The hourly wage for Colorado residents is $16.00/hr.
