Description

Waldan Paper Services, LLC, located in Oshkosh, WI, is the leading Flexographic printer and Paper Converting manufacturer in the mid-west; for over 30 years, we have been providing successful solutions and applications for our customers with both our existing product and new product development.


We are hiring Assistants to the Operators on 1st shift for our Printing and Converting Departments. These positions will work Monday through Friday on 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and additional hours as needed.

The starting salary is $15.00+ per hour depending upon experience.


Job Summary: Assists Operators in operating printing and/or converting machines by performing the following duties.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and machine operating procedures.
  • Assist in the set-up of the machine.
  • Furnish Operator with materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Follow all instructions and procedures noted in each print job master folder.
  • Ensure product specifications are being adhered to.
  • Inspect product for quality, alerting Operator if a problem arises.
  • Mount printing sleeves on to printing cylinders and install in press.
  • Take viscosity and Ph.
  • Inspect material during production run.
  • Assist operator in roll changes and wrapping finished rolls.
  • Operate the following equipment: Compactor, Core Cutter, and Label Printer. May be trained on Forklift and/or Grabber truck.
  • Cross-train to operate machine in Operator’s absence.
  • Clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education And Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three months of light manufacturing experience, preferred.
  • Combination of equivalent experience and/or education will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic computer and software knowledge.
  • Basic math and measuring skills; mechanical skills; communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions. Ability to think and react quickly.
  • Ability to work independently and keep self-motivated.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift and cover vacations as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform the following activities:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk and bend.
  • Reach and grab with hands.
  • Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Vision ability include close, color and adjust focus.
