Benchmark is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor. Responsibilities include reviewing daily receipts, performing job order cost analysis, and assessing parts delivery performance. The individual must ensure inventory control procedures are consistently followed by coordinating the incoming and outgoing of finished goods and raw materials for manufacturing and aftermarket needs.  This role will supervise shipping and receiving functions. The position reports directly to the Controller.

Who we’re looking for

  • Receives incoming shipments of materials, parts, and supplies.  Matches packing slip (receipt) with the Purchase Order and support information associated with the Purchase Order to insure items and quantities are correct. Scans and saves vendor information and packing lists to ERP system (Syteline). Reports discrepancies to Buyer.
  • Accurately inputs received Purchase Order information into Syteline so invoices received from vendors may be paid through Shared Services.
  • Process returns to vendors for credit.
  • Physically receives and counts all parts for stock, customer orders, job orders, and machines. 
  • Reconciles and posts cycle counts generated and counted by other employees.
  • Updates Cycle Count Report for monthly review.
  • Relieves inventory for job orders, machine orders and parts orders.
  • Receives and documents receipt of machine orders.
  • Oversees shipping parts and posting in Syteline allowing Account to invoice the customer. 
  • Ensures customer’s order is accurate regarding freight and other fees when entered into Syteline.
  • Handles exporting goods by processing required export documents for shipments with UPS, Federal Express or other freight haulers.
  • Oversees the Past Due Report with Shipping to make sure orders are shipped on time.
  • Assists pulling of parts orders to ship.
  • Assists boxing/crating of parts orders to ship.
  • Takes photos of parts orders and records with the job or customer order.
  • Assists with scheduling trucks for shipments.
  • Oversees the production of Spare Parts Kits. Makes sure the kits are assembled in a timely manner and that all parts are pulled and issued to the associated job order.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train employees on processes and procedures which govern the business with respect to shipping and receiving, materials movement and inventory control.
  • Run variance reports daily on items received through purchase order or job orders and analyze data. 
  • Monitor lead times, adjust and escalate critical priority jobs/parts to meet customer demands.
  • Perform root cause analysis in partnership with Manufacturing Manager and Purchasing Manager on variances due to labor or purchased parts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job.
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Syteline experience preferred, some ERP required
  • Prior supervisor or leadership skills preferred
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two- year college or technical school; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
