Job Purpose
Develops new business, stimulates sales growth of existing and new accounts. Manages all Zone leads, and on-boards new customers and sells the entire range of products and services. The AM I is focused on small-medium-sized customer segments with approximately 250-350 revenue significant accounts in an assigned Zone. Reporting to the Zone Manager the AM I develops and closes opportunities of moderate complexity within an assigned geography, market segment, or strategic vertical. The AM I is predominately telephone-based. This position bonus is based on GP Growth for assigned accounts. Responsible for achieving assigned account sales and profit goals, as well as activity-based metrics
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Grow revenue in the zone by utilizing inside sales communication methodology which includes but not limited to; phone calls, emails, and strategic electronic marketing tactics
- Responsible for qualifying new sales leads
- Coordinates order management activities: order entry, contract review, on-time delivery performance, inventory maintenance, special handling requirements, product specification maintenance, returns, and any other customer-related activities in support of customer requirements
- Responsible for establishing a call pattern with a targeted All-Spec prospect account list in key market segments for the zone in coordination with the Sales Manager and Marketing Team
- Engages in Re-Activation campaigns within a given Zone focused on re-engaging dormant accounts.
- Collaborates with internal and external resources when identifying emerging customer needs, cost savings opportunities, competitive threats, and revenue enhancement opportunities
- Develops and monitors sales plan to achieve annualized account-level goals
- Continually develop and expand product and technical knowledge in support of customer base
- Performs timely follow up on quotes and inquiries
- Leverages Hisco’s Value Proposition when identifying opportunities for Platinum Suppliers, MRO, Documented Cost Savings, Value-Added and Vending Solutions
- Coordinates with Marketing on lead follow up activities resulting from Platinum Supplier or key market-focused campaigns
- Monitor key performance indicators to identify gaps in customer profitability or service levels and proactively work with cross-functional resources (operations, procurement, quality, finance, sales, etc.) to resolve
- Delivers clear, well-organized presentations over the phone; demonstrates understanding of the audience’s needs and interests.
- Schedules in-person visits with selected customers as needed
- Records/maintains all customer-related and sales activity information in CRM system to enable 360-degree view of customer
- Other sales generation and customer support duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or Business Administration
- 2-3 years of industrial sales experience
