Job Description

Summary/Objective

Ability to learn and operate Mailroom packaging equipment, deliver newspaper bundles to the loading dock, pallet staging area with the aid of power equipment. Counts and prepares pre-print pieces for delivery, performs all duties associated with machine operator.

Essential Functions

• Monitors mailroom equipment including stackers, tiers, bottom wrap equipment, makes adjustments to the equipment as necessary, calls on maintenance as needed and completes repair orders when appropriate.

• Completely and accurately generates all paperwork associated with mailroom operator, records all counts: Monitors machinery and insures proper functionality.

• Receives and prepares all freestanding inserts and pre-printed materials for packaging and shipping.

• Participates in set-up and clean up of mailroom equipment including maintaining the work area and keeping it clean and free of obstacles at all times.

• Serves as a proactive customer service ambassador of SCNG by representing by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner. Ensures external and internal customer inquiries are responded to on a timely basis.

• Completes special assignments as assigned by supervisor.

Competencies & Skills

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout a shift.

• Perform basic math skills.

• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack and other power lift equipment.

• Possess effective communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Person typically has one or more years of related experience.
