GSM Industrial, a regional leader since 1983 in industrial fabrication, installation and mechanical contracting, is seeking an Industrial Project Manager/Estimator to support our team. Our typical Industrial Project Managers/Estimators earn between $70,000 and $100,000 per year.



The Industrial Project Manager/Estimator is an individual experienced in industrial contracting, who estimates and project manages fabrication and installation projects by addressing customer needs and specifications.  Creates working scope and estimates to ensure profitability, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction. This position works with other Industrial Project Manager/Estimators and Operation department leads, and reports to the Sales Manager.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects and interprets information from customers to facilitate estimating;  
  • Interacts in an office or manufacturing setting with customers via phone, e-mail or face-to-face, to provide support and information on products and services;
  • Enters orders for products or services;
  • PM the project through its life cycle;
  • Works with Design team to plan and draw layouts of the job;
  • Orders materials and equipment as needed for the project;
  • Confers with customers throughout the project lifecycle to keep them informed of status of job, scheduling, design changes, or cost concerns;
  • Fields customer questions and concerns and ensures appropriate actions are taken, and when appropriate, alerts supervisor, sales and production to areas of concern;
  • Maintains customer accounts and records of customer interactions with details of inquiries or comments;
  • Prospect and develop new customer opportunities from marketing leads, research, known contacts, or cold calling in conjunction with Business Development Manager.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques and principles
  • Knowledge of sheet metal, steel fabrication & install, industrial maintenance, process piping, rigging and ducting
  • Ability to represent and sell the company and its products and services
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and estimate time and material requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Intermediate mathematics
  • Planning and time-management skills
  • Ability to execute goals and objectives
  • Computer skills and willingness to adopt InforVisual ERP software processes and procedures
  • Valid driver’s license
