JOB SUMMARY

Hands on technician of a maintenance facilities crew; performing required or assigned task(s) to maximize, safety, quality, and efficiency of plant personnel and equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain all facility equipment utilizing company and departmental policies. To include plumbing, pipe fitting, fabrication, High, medium, and low voltage systems. Fabricate, weld and install supports, brackets, fencing etc. as needed. Repair / replace overhead doors, levelers, dock locks, and outside dock lights. Install, relocate and maintain all lighting throughout the plant.

  2. Maintain a situational awareness of the shop floor activities and anything that affects safety or production equipment.

  3. Assist in the development of maintenance personnel, systems, and programs through training and continuous improvement processes

  4. Support production; perform assigned work orders, and preventative maintenance, to maximize production efficiency.

  5. Ensure all maintenance processes are followed and documented in accordance with company and department procedures/policies.

  6. Effectively follow up on open issues and communicating to the supervisor or team leader any open issues not resolved during your shift.

  7. Proactive in preventative and predictive maintenance by identifying problems during either production or planned maintenance downtime.

  8. Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor or Superintendent.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED

Master Electrician Certified in TN or 10 year experience as an electrician

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Proficient in welding, for pipe fitting, fabrication, structural steel, and general maintenance items
  2. Operate heavy equipment, (loader, man lift, back hoe, etc.) as needed.
  3. Strong mechanical skills to include overhead door repair and installation
  4. Strong electrical skill to install high, medium, and low voltage equipment in “hot” environment.
  5. Familiar with Tennessee and National Electrical Code.
  6. Ability to isolate short circuits in long electrical run for medium and low voltage service.
  7. Ability to make, terminate, troubleshoot, network cables (cat 5, 6,)
  8. Carpentry, painting and maintenance skills for installing low voltage and network drops in office areas.
  9. Concrete Finishing after floor repair or equipment relocation.
  10. Ability to use all hand tools associate with electrical, pipe fitting, plumbing, and carpentry trades.
  11. Ability to work independently or as a team.
