Summary/Objective
- This position is responsible to ensuring papers are sorted and received at carrier drop off locations. Shifts are 11:30 pm to 3:30 am Fri-Tuesday, except Saturday night, which is 9:30 pm-3:30 am.
Essential Functions
- Verify publications upon arrival at warehouse
- Count, stack and sort multiple newspapers
- Load and haul bundles in a company vehicle to drop off location
Competencies & Skills
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Basic computer skills (ability to input timesheets)
- Ability to safely operate a standard sized cargo van
- Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack
- Good driving record
Travel
- Routine driving in a company vehicle in the Monterey/Salinas area
Required or Preferred Education
- High School or equivalent experience required
Required or Preferred Experience
- Previous warehouse experience a plus
Work Environment
- Majority of the work will be completed at the warehouse. Normal exposure to warehouse noise and dust should be expected. Additionally, this position requires driving, with associated factors. Exposure to weather elements a probability.
Physical Demands
- Physical requirements: bend, stretch and lift bundles weighing up to 25 pounds
- Sustained periods of standing on concrete floors while stacking papers.
