Summary/Objective

Sun - Lowell, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a District Manager to join the team! MediaNews Group offers news reporting and third party advertising and marketing opportunities through its multi-platform products which include: web, mobile, tablet, and print. We are one of the largest media groups in the U.S., serving high-value audiences and connecting advertisers to them. MNG publishes award-winning content (49 Pulitzers) that amasses and engages a nationwide audience via 800 multi-media platforms including web, mobile, social, and print. We are transforming the news industry.

Essential Functions

• Establishes, reviews, and adjusts route delivery boundaries to maximize service and minimize expenses.

• Monitors and understands the independent contractor agreements.

• Responsible to recruit, orientate, contact and terminate Independent Contractors (IC).

• Reviews and holds accountable IC performance results in both service and sales to maintain company standards.

• Oversees/Assists in the distribution of company products to IC.

• Maintains company established complaint ratio standard.

• Responds to customer complaints to ensure excellent service.

• Delivers open routes as needed.

• Retention - Contacts customers who have stopped or are scheduled to stop in an attempt to resell or get payment.

• Managers and scheduled assigned part-time employee(s).

• Dispatches customer complaints daily.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Sales experience (customer retention) and dedication to achieve circulation goals.

• Retail, restaurant experience will be considered.

• Must be willing to work flexible hours which will include early mornings and some weekends; typical hours are 2:00 am-10:00 am; must be flexible to work hours outside of what is listed.

• Must have a valid driver’s license & insurance with reliable transportation

• Pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle report required

Supervisory Responsibility

• You will be responsible for supporting a team of Independent Contractors.
  

Travel

• 50-80%.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

• This job operates as a professional in both a production environment and may include office hours as well. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and may include production equipment as well.

Physical Demands
