Brenton, located in Alexandria, MN, is looking for a talented Director of Operations to lead the Orion Product Line.  This position requires leadership experience within equipment manufacturing, operational and customer facing experience, and a successful track record of achieving profit and business goals for an organization.  This role will oversee the operational aspects of the Orion product line including Applications, Engineering, Assembly, and Project Management.

This position will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager and will manage approximately 6 direct reports and 20 indirect reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a trusted relationship with and become a strong business partner to the VP/GM
  • Develop, implement, and execute the strategic plan for Pro Mach’s Orion product line
  • Ensure that Orion profit and growth goals are achieved
  • Lead the team with hands-on style leadership that emphasizes strong customer focus.
  • Drive accountability to fiscal and operational results and associated KPI’s
  • Direct the assembly floor layout and workflow of equipment with a focus on continually improving assembly methods and team member utilization
  • Provide vision and leadership regarding long-range fiscal planning to ensure the continuity and solvency of the product line
  • Clearly and consistently communicate product line vision and growth to the organization and lead the efforts to achieve this vision
  • Responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff
  • Interface with leadership regarding strategic plan, budget, and monthly financials. Discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions
  • Leverage past experience and strong communication skills to ensure collaboration and cohesiveness across all departments of the organization
  • Direct activities to ensure safety, compliance, quality and regulatory control standards

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Product Management, Operations or Engineering Management. Training and Experience in continuous improvement or Lean Sigma a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a P&L with a minimum of five years of experience in organizational planning and financial oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with an operations or engineering focus
  • A minimum of five years of experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision and performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, evaluate hold accountable and enhance effectiveness of a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to share vision, skills and knowledge with others
  • Results-oriented, self-confident, self-motivated, takes initiative, persistent
  • Strong relationship, leadership, team building and coaching skills
