Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing directional drilling operation at the wellsite utilizing H&P Technology applications to ensures the desired directional path and drilling targets are achieved in a safe and economic manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Play key role in the deployment, training and implementation of FlexApps. Motive BGS and AutoSlide
  • Provide onsite support for new AutoSlide/BGS deployment
  • Responsible for BHA being assembled as per well / engineering plan.
  • Responsible for the operation, inspection and maintenance of motors and downhole tools at rig site.
  • Responsible for the generation and content of daily and Final Well reports on services performed.
  • Responsible for maintaining well profile plots and providing customer with directional survey data.
  • Responsible for supervising, mentoring and training Trainee (DD IV) and Junior (DD III) field representatives.
  • Collaborates with the MWD team to ensure BHA specification and engineering optimization parameters are realized.
  • Maintains equipment records of equipment at wellsite.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
  • Coordinate any field support efforts with the real-time centers
  • Field based scheduled rotation
  • Work location may vary based on operational needs

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience as a driller with H&P preferred
  • Must be a strong team player with the flexibility to champion change
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of directional drilling and downhole tools and ability to recognize drilling dysfunction required
  • Must have clean driving record with a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Excellent presentation, communication and technical writing skills a plus
  • Professionalism is a must, this position frequently represents H&P in operator meetings
  • Must have be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and customer awareness
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new problems and situations
  • Must have strong PC skills with the ability to adapt to existing programs used by the call center, and the ability to tailor new programs to the needs of the group
