Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Senior CNC Machinist to operate, program, and maintain our state-of-the-art CNC machines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-precision parts, optimizing manufacturing processes, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set up, and operate various CNC machines, including multi-axis lathes and mills from leading brands such as Haas, Mazak, DMG MORI, and Okuma.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production of parts.
- Utilize CAD/CAM software, particularly Mastercam and SolidWorks, to develop and optimize CNC programs.
- Perform quality control checks using precision measurement tools to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine, tooling, and part issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for CNC equipment.
- Train and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance on machine operation, safety procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and production managers to improve manufacturing processes and increase efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
- Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Proficiency in programming and operating CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis machines from various manufacturers.
- Expert knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software, particularly Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and cutting tool technology.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including training and mentoring junior staff.
- Proficient in using precision measurement tools and quality control techniques.
- NIMS certification in CNC Milling: Programming Setup & Operations preferred.
- OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Safety and Health certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, or automotive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience with tool design and fixture creation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capable of working in a factory environment with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
