At a Glance:

H&P is seeking an outgoing team member that will analyze costs and prepare accounting journals for fixed asset and inventory accounts. This exciting role requires 25% of travel where one could spend up to a week at a time processing physical inventories. If you are tired of sitting behind a desk for forty hours a week this might be the position for you. Do you love the great outdoors, excel sheets and numbers? Consider this dynamic role. No accounting degree required, however, an accounting or business degree would be preferred.

This position will be hybrid, requiring 2-3 days working at our Houston office and will require 25% travel.

What you will do:

While there won’t be a “typical” day for this position, here are some of the responsibilities the job will include:

• Analyze costs and preparing accounting journals for fixed assets and warehouse inventory accounts.
• Perform physical inventories of fixed assets at yard/vendor/rig locations.
• Perform warehouse inventory audits
• Attaching asset ID tags on capital fixed assets.
• Reconcile physical equipment inventories to the accounting records.
• Maintain accounting records of fixed assets and warehouse inventory balances.
• Suggests changes to inventory processes and procedures to be more efficient and accurate
• Participates in assigned accounting special projects
• Takes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy

What we’re looking for:

• 2-5 years’ work experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Must be willing to work outside for long periods at a time.
• 25% travel required
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business preferred
• Must have proficient PC skills, Microsoft Office applications required
• Excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
• Self-starter with natural curiosity and the willingness to hustle hard to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment
