Summary/Objective
Coordinates the Giving Marin program for the Marin Independent Journal. Responsible for receiving and organizing advertising materials from nonprofits into a shared system for partner review. Matches nonprofit ad materials with partners. Acts as concierge for program sponsors. Liaison to advertising team for print and digital ad fulfillment. Currently 25 hours per week on average.
Essential Functions
Giving Marin program coordinator, producing volunteer listings, event photos
Social media postings multiple times weekly, primarily Facebook, IG, twitter
Event planning, guest list invitations, event coordinator and logistics 3-4 times annually
Help facilitate partner meetings 3-4 times annually
Assist with annual grant vetting for nonprofit applicants
Competencies & Skills
Proficient in social media platforms
Ideal candidate will be familiar with WordPress for updating Giving Marin website volunteer opportunities
Good communication skills, including comfortable with public speaking
Travel
Currently, no travel required.
Required or Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Required or Preferred Experience
Ideal candidate will have prior advertising fulfillment experience
Ideal candidate will have prior event planning and/or nonprofit work experience
Work Environment
Currently, position is a remote position with occasional in-person meetings at San Rafael office.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, with good communication skills. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 20 pounds.
