Job Overview:

Description

The mission of this role is to manage the accounting activities for GSM Industrial. The Accounting Manager develops, implements and administers the accounting procedures. Work must be performed in a way that aligns with GSM operating values including cooperation, flexibility, respect for team members & customers and always in a professional manner.  


Tactical Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage and perform accounting functions

Daily

  • Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables including associated entries
  • Record journal entries as necessary
  • Handles daily bank deposit
  • Prepare and distribute cash position report

Weekly

  • Calculate and distribute Per Diem to Field employees
  • Process payroll into Paylocity and record into General Ledger

Monthly

  • Prepare bank reconciliation
  • Perform month end closing activities
  • Prepare financial reports and distribute to management
  • Prepare and file PA sales tax reports

Quarterly

  • Calculate and file fuel/IFTA tax reports

Annually

  • Issue 1099’s
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Prepare year end information for outside accountants


  • Administer Gooding Group 401(k) Plan
  • Responsible for fixed asset accounting, including additions, deletions and depreciation
  • Supervise Administrative Assistant and Receptionist
  • Assist outside vendors in audits of employee benefit programs
  • Establish and maintain financial files and records to document transactions
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned or as necessary contributing to the organization’s success.

Requirements

Qualifications:  

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or 3-5 years related experience
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting systems (Visual Infor experience beneficial) 
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Previous supervision experience preferred
  • Attention to detail while exhibiting a continuous process improvement mindset


Machines/Tools/Equipment:

  • Computer, basic office equipment (copier, calculator, fax, etc.) 


Working Conditions:

  • Primarily a controlled office environment
  • In a normal workday, the employee must be able to stand 1-4 hours 
  • In a normal workday, the employee must be able to sit 7+ hours
  • In a normal workday, the employee must be able to walk 1-4 hours 
  • In a normal workday, the employee must be able to drive 1-4 hours
  • In a normal workday, the employee must be able to lift/carry 20 lbs. maximum; frequently lift/carry up to 10 lbs. – Light Work
  • The employee must be able to use his/her upper extremities for repetitive simple grasping,.
  • The employee must be able to occasionally (0-33%) throughout the workday:
  • Bend at the waist 
  • Squat at the knees 
  • Climb
  • Reach above shoulders
  • Kneel 
  • Crawl 
  • Use feet (foot controls)
